Levur $250K grant

THE BUSINESS
Levur was born after seeing the first-hand impact palm oil production has on deforestation and destruction of habitats. The oil is so widely used in cosmetics and food products that it can be difficult to avoid; for both consumers and manufacturers.
A HUGE OPPORTUNITY
Levur has developed a proprietary yeast strain and precision fermentation process to produce sustainable palm oil derivatives for use in cosmetics, nutraceuticals, and food. This alternative offers environmental and nutritional advantages, including reduced deforestation, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and improved supply chain stability.
THE FOCUS OF THE GRANT APPLICATON
With support from the Australian Government’s Industry Growth Program Early-Stage Commercialisation grant, Levur will advance its Sustainable Palm Oil Derivatives technology from TRL 3 to TRL 5, accelerating the pathway towards commercialisation.
THE RESULT
Supported by Scale Impact, Levur has secured $250K through the Industry Growth Program, accelerating its mission to develop innovative, ethical alternatives to unsustainable plant and animal oils.
